SEBI Update : Norms for Silver Exchange Traded Funds (Silver ETFs) and Gold Exchange Traded Funds (Gold ETFs)

Dear All,

SEBI vide notification dated 24^th November 2021 introduced norms for Silver Exchange Traded Funds (Silver ETFs) and Gold Exchange Traded Funds (Gold ETFs).

The norms for Silver ETF contain in detail provisions about the investments, valuation, calculation of Net Asset Value and it’s disclosure, Liquidity, Disclosures, Half Yearly Returns and other such provisions.

Also certain norms of Silver ETF are in line with SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996. The said Regulations are accordingly amended and shall come into force on 30th day from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

The Gold ETF shall additionally comply with specific norms of Silver ETF within a period of 3 months from the date of the circular.
